Footage of Drake rehearsing a Michael Jackson cover has surfaced deep within the confines of his “100 gigs” collection.
On Tuesday, the 37-year-old unleashed “100 Gigs on Your Headtop,” a vault full of at least 13 years worth of archival footage, photos, and other content including three never-before-heard collaborations with 21 Savage, Young Thug, and Latto.
One of the gems found in the “Air Drake” folder includes file C0037 36.mp4 which sees Drizzy rehearsing a cover of MJ’s 1979 hit, “Rock With You,” complete with flooring that lit up under his feet as a nod to “Billie Jean.”
The complete 8-minute clip appears to have been recorded during a tech rehearsal or sound check from the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour in 2018, which began just months after Drake released Scorpion and Migos dropped Culture II. If you weren't sure, this was also around the time the rappers released "Walk It Like I Talk It."
Drake’s take on “Rock With You” also featured elements of “Don’t Matter to Me,” a collaboration from Scorpion made with one of Jackon’s unused vocal sessions.
Despite previously saying that “summer vibes” were on the way, Drake announced last Friday at a concert in Toronto that his collaborative album with PartyNextDoor will arrive “when it gets a little chilly.”
