Dua Lipa and Callum Turner returned to the altar for a second, far more extravagant wedding celebration in Palermo, Sicily.
After a private civil marriage in London last week, the couple staged a lavish multi-day event in Palermo on Saturday (June 6), according to Vanity Fair. The celebration reportedly cost $1.73 million and unfolded across historic villas, palaces, and luxury hotels with an intensely curated VIP guest list.
According to the outlet, the main ceremony was held at Villa Valguarnera, an 18th-century estate described as "little Versailles."
Guests gathered in the villa's gazebo where the couple exchanged vows while Elton John performed "Your Song" with piano accompaniment.
According to VF, someone described the wedding as "the most important wedding in Sicily since Michael Corleone's," in a nod to The Godfather. As expected, security was exceptionally strict, including anti-drone systems, confidentiality agreements, and a complete ban on photography throughout the event.
Roughly 300 guests attended, including Donatella Versace, Charli XCX, Adele, Shakira, Joe Alwyn, Mark Ronson, and Olivia Dean.
The celebration continued with a banquet featuring Sicilian dishes including anelletti alla Norma, panelle, crocché, cassate, and cannoli, followed by an afterparty with DJs Carl Cox, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, and Peggy Gou.
Large sections of the city were tightly restricted for the celebration, with streets closed, heavy security patrols, and black coverings concealing certain areas. The restrictions reportedly drew local controversy, with posters reading "The city is not for rent" and "Our square is not your living room."
Guests stayed across high-end locations including the Grand Hotel Villa Igiea and yachts anchored in Palermo harbor.
Dua Lipa and Callum Turner’s relationship first became public in 2024 and they became engaged in 2025.
“This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever — it's a really special feeling," Lipa told British Vogue in 2025 when announcing the engagement.
