DaniLeigh announced that her father, Vladimir Curiel, passed away after a battle with cancer.

The 29-year-old singer shared the unfortunate news in a lengthy message posted to her Instagram Story, revealing that Curiel passed away surrounded by his wife and children early Tuesday morning.

“First off, thank you God for allowing us this time with our father before he left us,” she wrote on IG. “My father and my mother have always sacrificed their lives to give us the best ones, and this sacrifice of my father's life was the ultimate one to have all his kids complete our relationship with God... I've never felt closer!”

DaniLeigh continued, “The way he passed with his kids and wife praying over him and telling our goodbyes as he took his last breath just shows me how God opened his arms wide open to welcome him into heaven. Thank you Lord Jesus for stopping his suffering, I know he fought so hard to stay with us but it was time. Thank you Lord for giving me a beautiful angel up there to watch me.”

The singer, born Danielle Leigh Curiel, also eulogized her father for his kindness and “how soft and pure he was.”

“Daddy I love you so much!!! this is a pain i've never felt before. these past few years have been so dark for me but I know now I have your light shining over me and I promise i'm not gonna do anything to dim it,” she added. “I'm going to miss you so much, it's crazy V called you yesterday and kept saying she loved you. She'll remember you forever Papa, I know it!”

DaniLeigh’s father passed away a week after she asked her followers to “please pray for my fathers life” along with the hashtag #Cancerwontwin.
