Cher is once again opening up about her relationship with Alexander “AE” Edwards.
During her CBS Mornings interview that aired Tuesday (Nov. 4), the 79-year-old pop icon brushed off criticism about the 40-year age gap between her and Edwards, 39.
"Whatever. You know what? They're not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast," Cher told Gayle King at the 5:56 mark in the video linked above. “Thank God, he just says, ‘You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.'"
“We laugh all the time, and I just love him. I think he's beautiful. He's really talented. Like, he's one of the most talented persons I've ever met,” she added.
The “Believe” singer also briefly spoke about bonding with Edward’s six-year-old son, Slash, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose.
“I used to say, ‘God, give me a toddler and a man,’” she said. “He's so funny. He's so smart. He's a delight.”
Page Six reported that the couple appeared "very much in love" at Alan Faena's new West Chelsea hotel on October 10, where they attended a private opening for Amaze, Vogue, Ascend, Flourish. They arrived hand in hand, and Cher even served her "Cherlato" ice cream alongside Gianpaolo "Giapo" Grazioli.
A source told the outlet, "Cher and her boyfriend were very close and stuck together... They seem very much in love and happy to be together."
Cher and Edwards were first romantically linked in November 2022 after being seen holding hands in Los Angeles, later making their red carpet debut at the Versace fashion show in 2023. The two briefly broke up in May 2023 but rekindled later that fall.
The singer, who initially had reservations about dating a younger man, described Edwards as a “beautiful man” with “diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair,” and a unique charm in an Oct. 2023 interview with People.
“I hate when people say people are special, but lots of people say I’m special, so I can say that he’s special,” she said at the time. “No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it’s never too late."
She continued, "If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, ‘Well, this is doomed.’ But we’ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time.”
