Cardi B announced that she's expecting a child with her boyfriend Stefon Diggs.
The rapper shared the news with Gayle King during an interview that aired on CBS Mornings on Wednesday (Sept. 17).
“The rumors on the street, the streets be talking and so the, the latest rumor about you is that you are having a baby and I wanna know what, if anything you wanna share about that with the class,” said King at the 32-second mark in the video below.
“Yes, I am. I'm having a baby with my boyfriend Stefon Diggs. “I'm excited, I'm happy. I feel like I'm in a good space. I feel very strong. I feel very powerful that I'm doing all this work, but I'm doing all this work while I'm creating a baby."
She continued, “Me and my man, we're very supportive of each other. We're like in the same space in our careers… I feel like we're really great and one of the best at what we do. Me and him think the same way, like, yeah we're one of the greatest but what's next?… We're never, like, comfortable. We just wanna keep doing it and that's just how we both are.”
King also asked the rapper about the speculation around Cardi’s pregnancy.
“I just was like, can I just say it on my own time? I'm not hiding,” Cardi said. “Let me close some deals first and it's like, you don't really wanna say right away that you're pregnant. Like, let me see a couple of more sonograms, let my baby be healthy.”
Cardi also shared that she hadn’t told her parents prior to sharing the news with King.
“I have to tell them this week before this interview come out—I haven't even told my parents,” Cardi shared. “I'm scared of them. I'm very scared of my parents,” she added before saying both of her parents like Diggs.
“Everybody kept telling me like I should have fun and we had a little bit of too much fun and now I'm here,” Cardi said with a smile.
While the Cardi hasn’t shared her exact due date, she says the baby is coming before her newly announced Little Miss Drama Tour, which is set to kick off in February 2026.
“I'm very ready,” she said about the tour. “Even when I'm pregnant, I'm very, very ready. Because I'm getting my body ready, like, I stretch it out. So as soon as I give birth, tour rehearsal starts. I don't come from weak women.”
The announcement comes days before Cardi is set to release her highly-anticipated sophomore album, Am I the Drama?
"By the way, now that I've talked about it, y'all better get my album," Cardi joked. "Y'all wanted to know, right? Now y'all know, now y'all can buy my album so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff... I'm a mother of four now!"
Earlier this month, Cardi teased on the Jennifer Hudson Show that she wants to have more children.
“The more kids you have, the less of a possibility you go to, like, a [nursing] home. One of them is gonna wipe my butt!" She joked at the time.
The “Outside” rapper is already a mother of three children, all of whom she shares with her ex, Offset. Their first daughter, Kulture, was born in 2018, followed by their son, Wave, in September 2021. The pair welcomed their youngest, Blossom, last September.
