DJ Akademiks is shutting down the latest rumors about what Drake’s next move will be.

Two months after the release of 37-year-old Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and the cultural phenomenon surrounding it since, there’s one question on many people’s minds: where does Drake, 37, go from here?

Fans of the Canadian rapper are apparently keeping tabs on his social media activity lately for clues.

Some hawk-eyed fans noticed recently that Drake is following Siedah Garrett, the 64-year-old Grammy-winning and Oscar nominated songwriter best known for co-writing and providing backup vocals on Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.”

The discovery led to rumors online that Drake would be sampling Jackson’s 1988 hit for an upcoming new single.

However, Akademiks shut down the speculation on his X account on Wednesday, writing, “Not true.”

The 33-year-old media personality and Drake afficionado also confirmed on Monday that new music from Drizzy was on the way while claiming that the success of K Dot’s “Not Like Us” was due to fake streams on streaming services.

“No DSP will ever Admit they counted or have counted FAKE STREAMS. I know people there so I ran it up the chain.. but of course they would say that,” he wrote on X. “Btw all the people who do digital marketing for artists who purchase fake streams to help inflate/promote artists also say when streams are faked... its done that DSPs DO NOT detect.”

“There are a few embarassing instances where it was found out that a few artists fake streams and it was announced. That is rare. Most times.. its not detected.. or if it is.. it is definitely not announced,” he added.

In separate tweets, Ak claimed that he began to realize the music industry fabricates an “image” for each artist and that “the whole game is rigged.”

“Drake new music otw. and its fye.... Trust,” he wrote. “All u n***as who been acting like Drake finished... bookmark this tweet for 6 months from now. We dont want u niggas no where near us......Remember that.”

On the other hand, Drake recently hinted that “summer vibes” are on the way and teased that new music with 31-year-old PARTYNEXTDOOR is coming “real soon.”
