Another Tay-K Associate Reaches a Plea Deal in Exchange for 30-Year Sentence

Tay-K is the last defendant remaining to stand trial for the 2016 fatal shooting of Ethan Walker.

Another one of Tay-K’s associates has taken a plea deal. Pimpyz, whose real name is Jalen Bell, agreed to plead guilty for his involvement in the 2016 shooting of Ethan Walker in exchange for a 30-year prison sentence. According to the Star-Telegram, Bell pled guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery in the home invasion.

Bell’s mother broke out in cries as the decision was read.

This leaves Tay-K as the remaining defendant in the robbery/murder case. Back in August, his co-defendant Sean Robinson also took a plea deal in exchange for 40 years behind bars.

On July 26, 2016, Tay-K and six other individuals allegedly carried out a home invasion that resulted in the deadly shooting of Ethan Walker. The suspected gunman Latharian Merritt was convicted of capital murder back in May, and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Aside from Merritt, Robinson, and Bell, suspects Megan Holt and Ariana Bharrat agreed to a deal. If they testify against their co-defendants, their capital murder charges will be waived.

This isn’t the young rapper’s only legal case. He’s also accused of the 2017 murder Mark Anthony Saldivar, and was hit with another felony charge earlier this month after he was caught hiding a phone inside his prison cell.

"They asked him to remove it. That’s when he attempted to throw it in to the toilet to destroy the phone,” David McClelland, Chief of Staff for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, said. “When they tried to take the phone away from him, he got a little angry and got into an altercation with one of our jailers."
