A woman who plead guilty to a $2 million murder-for-hire plot against her husband has died by suicide, after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to the Los Angeles Times, 44-year-old Tatyana Natasha Remley died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head on December 18.

The incident took place at Piazza della Famigia, a public square in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood. Her body was found outside a bar, according to witnesses.

Eyewitness David Ohara, who shared some clips of the aftermath on X, said: "The young lady shot one time in the air and then turned the gun on herself."

In December 2023, Remley was sentenced to three years and eight months in state prison after pleading guilty to solicitation of murder.

In July that same year, authorities received a tip that Remley was looking to hire a hit man to kill her husband. According to the Los Angeles Times, she met up with an undercover sheriff’s detective to hash out the plan August 2.

"She provided detailed information on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed," authorities wrote in a news release in 2023. "Remley brought three additional firearms and U.S. currency as a down payment for the murder." Remley allegedly offered $2 million in exchange for the killing.

Despite her almost four-year sentence, she served only one year, according to ABC 10 News San Diego.

Court records also show that Remley was hit with a felony arson charge this past September. She was accused of setting fire to a structure and forest land, which she pleaded not guilty to. Remley was set to appear in court March 3.
