Donald Trump Mistakes Nicky Jam for a Woman at Las Vegas Rally: 'She's Hot!'

“Do you know Nicky? She’s hot!” Trump said before Jam formally endorsed him.

Donald Trump misgendered reggaetón singer Nicky Jam at a campaign rally in Las Vegas on Friday (Sept. 13).

During the rally, the former president and current presidential candidate announced that he’d receive the endorsement of “Latin music superstar Nicky Jam.” Then, addressing the crowd who may not know who Nicky Jam is, as seemingly he didn’t, he asked, “Do you know Nicky? She’s hot!”

Trump then looked through the crowd to locate the singer he thought was a woman. ““Where’s Nicky? Where’s Nicky? Thank you, Nicky. Great to be having you here,” he said once he located him.

That’s when Trump finally changed his tune once he realized the error in his ways. “Oh look! Come here. I’m glad he came up.”

When Nicky Jam got on stage, he ignored the error — and still publicized his support anyway. “It’s an honor to meet you, Mr. President,” he said. “People that come from where I come from, they don’t meet the president. So I’m lucky. We need you. We need you back, right? We need you to be the president.”

In other recent celebrity-candidate-backing news, Taylor Swift’s post revealing that she supports presidential candidate Kamala Harris drove more than 400,000 people to visit the US voter information website in 24 hours. After watching the latest debate, the singer shared a message on Instagram explaining her choice.

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” she wrote. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

She continued on, suggesting for everyone to do some research before they make their decision. “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” she added. “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”
