A Massive Weed Farm Was Found at Legoland Theme Park

If you absolutely must set up an illegal growroom on someone else's property, you could do a lot worse than Legoland. A couple of unlucky dudes were arrested on suspicion of "producing cannabis" after Legoland Windsor staff found plants and related equipment inside a "derelict cottage" on theme park-owned land Monday, BBC Newsreported.

"Following routine checks, we can confirm that illegal substances were found in a derelict cottage outside of the LEGOLAND Park boundary," a Legoland spokesperson told the Scotsman Monday. "The building in question is inaccessible to the public and appears to have been accessed via the Crown Estate." The cottage itself rests on the 215-acre estate owned by Legoland and is situated near the park entrance.

Legoland staff were said to be "looking for asbestos" in the vacant building when they stumbled upon the good stuff and notified authorities. Once Thames Valley cops arrived on the scene at 11:15 a.m. local time, they found 50 "chest-high plants" relaxing under heat lamps and an irrigation system. An investigation is ongoing and no additional details on the hidden weed operation have been released.

The individuals unfortunate enough to have been arrested are a 40-year-old dude from Windsor and a 34-year-old dude from Burnham. They've since been bailed until Feb. 28. Under local law, Merry Janenotes the men—if convicted—could somehow face up to 14 fucking years in prison, an "unlimited fine," or both.
