You can now order additional free at-home COVID-19 tests from the federal government, as promised by President Biden during his State of the Union address last week.

“Today, I want you to know that if you’ve already ordered free tests, you can now order another round, shipped directly to your home and for free, so we’re prepared no matter what COVID-19 brings,” Biden said in a video statement shared Monday.

As noted in this NPR report, each U.S. household is allowed to order eight free tests. Thus, if your household previously ordered four tests, then you’re now able to order four additional tests. For ordering info, hit this link and provide your shipping address and email.

The second round of free tests comes the same week the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic death toll topped 6 million, with current data (at the time of this writing) from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University showing the global total at 6,009,179 deaths. In the U.S. alone, more than 960,000 people have died from COVID-19.

“I can’t promise a new variant won’t come, but I can promise you we’ll do everything within our power to be ready if it does,” Biden said during this month’s State of the Union address.

He also highlighted the sustaining importance of vaccines in the global pandemic fight, saying, “Stop looking at COVID as a partisan dividing line. See it for what it is: a god-awful disease.”
