President Barack Obama Takes Americans on Virtual Reality Tour of White House

President Barack Obama takes Americans on a tour of the White House in this amazing 8-minute short.

President Barack Obama, confirmed virtual reality fan, is giving the White House a proper sendoff with the launch of another collaboration with Oculus and Félix & Paul Studios. On Friday, the official White House Facebook page shared a 360-degree video starring POTUS and First Lady Michelle Obama.

In the clip, viewers are given a fascinating eight-minute tour of the space with some informative narration from POTUS himself. "This house belongs to you, and to every American," Obama said Friday. "For eight years, just a short chapter in the long story of our democracy, my family also had the privilege of calling the White House home."

Back in August, Obama became the first sitting United States president to rock a VR experience. That clip, shot over Father's Day weekend at Yosemite, focused on the legacy of the country's national parks and the dangers of climate change:

"At Oculus, we are increasing our investment in content that reaches a broad and diverse audience," Colum Slevin, Head of Experiences at Oculus, said in a press release at the time. "We love compelling, immersive VR experiences that transport people to places they never dreamed possible—like exploring Yosemite with the President of the United States."

A longer, full-VR version of the White House tour will be available later this year, Recode reported.
