A high school teacher in Indiana teacher was arrested just one day before the doom and gloom of Thanksgiving fuckeries after students said they witnessed her snorting powder in the classroom.
24-year-old Lake Central High School teacher Samantha Cox was taken to Lake County Jail Wednesday afternoon on pending possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia charges, the Times of Northwest Indiana reported.
Footage captured by a student shows Cox chopping up lines of what police say was potentially a blend of cocaine and heroin, based on preliminary information. St. John Police Chief James Kveton said in a statement that the students' actions "showed a tremendous amount of fortitude and integrity and enabled staff to address this situation promptly."
"She tried to hide herself," one witness, a student, toldCBS News. "She wasn't at her desk where we could see her. She was all the way in the corner where she thought we can't see her."
Footage of the incident, of course, spread quite quickly on social media. Lake Central officials have not commented on the specifics of the incident, but told reporters that teachers are "entitled to their due process rights."
The school also issued a robocall to parents and staff members. "Swift and forceful action was taken in conjunction with St. John and Dyer police departments," the robocall, according to a recording obtained by the Times, said. "The safety of all students remains the top priority of our school staff and a full investigation is ongoing."
