Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg Wants to Cure All Diseases by the End of the Century

Facebook has repeatedly proven itself to be a viable force, with the so-called competition recently taking more than a few notes from the social media giant’s playbook for their own innovations. Mark Zuckerberg, in turn, has gone from peak Silicon Valley bro to blossoming philanthropist. Dude's latest target? Every single disease in the world.

"While helping to connect the world will always be the most important thing that I do, there are more global challenges that I also feel a responsibility to help solve, to create a better world for my daughter and all future generations," Zuckerberg said during a conference for investors on Wednesday, as quoted by CNBC. "Things like helping to cure all disease by the end of the century." Can Zuckerberg actually pull this one off? There's a very good chance.

Back in 2014, Zuckerberg dropped a cool $25 million to help the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fight a rising Ebola epidemic. Zuckerberg, alongside his wife Priscilla Chan, also founded a humanitarian organization known as the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative. The mission of Chan-Zuckerberg, according to its Facebook page, is to "advance human potential and promote equality in areas such as health, education, scientific research, and energy."
