If you voted for Trump, all signs point to you being an unsalvageable dunce. All signs also point to you likely being among Fox News' most dedicated viewers, routinely subjecting yourself to society-deteriorating drivel like this:
Fox News, apparently, is also the perfect place for a Trumpee to hop on the airwaves with a totally fabricated story about being some sort of Navy SEAL hero.
John Garofalo first appeared on a segment Oct. 8 (see a ripped video of the segment up top), with Fox News claiming he was a decorated Vietnam War-era Navy SEAL with two Purple Hearts and other service medals. Garofalo, a glass artist, had also wasted a presumably large amount of time by crafting a glass presidential seal for the neo-Nazi-sympathizer-in-chief.
Thursday, the Navy Timesinformed the public that Garofalo was actually full of shit, and had been for years. "It got bigger and bigger," Garofalo told the publication during a phone interview, admitting he had lied about his service. "What I did I'm ashamed of, and I didn't mean to cause so much disgrace to the SEALs." Garofalo served in the Navy between 1963 and 1967 as an "aviation boatswain's mate," a role that centers on ground-based duties. He never served in Vietnam and possesses exactly zero Purple Hearts.
Even worse, Don Shipley—a retired SEAL—hit up Fox News the day after Garofalo's bullshit-laden segment premiered and provided the network with military records in an effort to inspire them to issue a retraction. "Fox News not withdrawing that story has drove me nutty," Shipley said. Though the segment was still live on the network's Facebook page Thursday afternoon, the self-satirizing network has since released a retraction.
"Unfortunately, all of Garofalo's claims turned out to be untrue," Fox News said. The network apologized to their viewers, "especially veterans and servicemen and women."
Though not yet widely reported, it's also safe to say that this dude is a fucking terrible glass artist.
