Speaking to a crowd in Ohio Monday afternoon ahead of GOP nominee Donald Trump's speech on foreign policy, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani appeared to forget that the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 ever happened. Giuliani, speaking on the two-term presidency of fellow Republican George W. Bush, asserted that the nation saw no "successful radical Islamic terrorist attack" during those 8 years.
Despite Giuliani's claims during Monday's speech, a quick Googling confirms that Bush was indeed in the White House on Sept. 11, 2001 and that the tragic attacks on that date were carried out by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda. Giuliani's remarks thus hit Twitter with the quickness, prompting exactly the response one would expect: confusion, anger, and a reliable dedication to getting some jokes off.
