The new national pastime of watching obvious scumfucks subtly squirm in front of a panel of aloof senior citizens continued Wednesday, this time with even more aloofness.
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook boss and Guy Played by Jesse Eisenberg That One Time, revealed during Wednesday's U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee hearing that he was also affected by the Cambridge Analytica fuckery.
Asked if his own personal information was included in the data sold to "malicious third parties," Zuckerberg confirmed that it was. Zuckerberg also claimed that Facebook was working on new internal investigative practices for "every single app" that has access to a large amount of users' personal information.
Also on Wednesday, Zuckerberg said that "some regulation" of sites like Facebook was inevitable. He did not elaborate on what these theoretical regulations might entail.
During Tuesday's hearing, we got a Zuckerberg apology. "We didn't take a broad enough view of our responsibility and that was a big mistake and it was my mistake and I'm sorry," he said. "I started Facebook, I run it and I'm responsible for what happens here."
