Las Vegas Mob Museum Launches El Chapo Exhibit, Sean Penn Not Included

El Chapo was recently captured (again) and is currently enduring some allegedly awful conditions in a maximum-security prison in Mexico.

Since that new Harry Potter ride just might make you barf up all your wizardry, maybe try the recently launched exhibit at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas dedicated entirely to Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán instead. While the real El Chapo attempts extradition to the U.S. due to the allegedly horrendous conditions of the Mexican maximum-security prison where he’s currently residing, the Mob Museum’s attraction invites visitors to experience a diorama version of one of the most compelling prison escapes in history.

The exhibit is comprised of a model that (as closely as possible) replicates El Chapo's infamous July 2015 escape and is set to run through July of this year, the Los Angeles Times reports. "This does stand out as far as communicating an event that took place historically," Adam Throgmorton, a scale model artist, said of crafting the El Chapo experience. "This is really storytelling through models."

Shawn Bicker, a fellow model artist who collaborated with Throgmorton on the Mob Museum exhibit, describes the attraction as essentially telling the story of "how [El Chapo] got into the tunnel and how he got out." That tunnel, as previously reported, was probably nicer than your apartment. The shrewd mile-long tunnel, as explored by CNN's Anderson Cooper shortly after El Chapo's motorcycle-assisted escape, represented the seemingly impossible fruits of some serious labor:
