Dogs are at it again. This time, one accidentally gobbled up a knife and somehow survived the experience.

The awesomeness of dogs, whom we have already objectively determined to be so much better than cats, knows no bounds. As if to prove this, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Macie recently gobbled up an eight-inch kitchen knife before enduring emergency surgery to have said knife safely removed.

First of all, HOLY SHIT. Secondly, is this badass dog okay? According to Mashable, Macie is indeed doing well in her recovery process. Macie, just 12 weeks old, was transported to an emergency service provided by the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) after her owner noticed her making a squeaking sound. "I thought she'd swallowed part of a toy," Irene Paisley of Glasgow, UK, said. "Then she was sick, but there was no sign of a toy and she started choking."

Macie entered surgery after having some x-rays taken—x-rays described by one veterinarian as unlike anything she's ever seen. "I've never seen an x-ray like Macie's," Emily Ronald said in a press release. "She was extremely lucky to survive. Her saving grace was that she swallowed the handle-end first. The blade-end would undoubtedly have pierced her organs, likely causing fatal injuries."

But why even eat a fucking knife to begin with? According to Paisley, that remains a mystery. "I couldn't believe it when they said Macie had swallowed a knife," Paisley said. "I have no idea where she got hold of it. She could have pinched it out of the dishwasher, but no one saw what happened. None of us could sleep that night as we knew Macie might not survive." But she did survive, because that's what dogs do.

Let's see what you got, cats. Think you can top this?
