Apple's iOS 13.2 Update Brings Fleet of New Emoji to iPhone

Apple's iOS 13.2 is out now and—as previously teased on World Emoji Day—this latest update arrives wholly stacked with fresh emoji.

All told, as the delightful experts at Emojipedia point out, the iOS update arrives with a grand total of 398 new emoji designs (230 from Emoji 12.0 and 168 from Emoji 12.1) for Apple users. Additionally, iOS 13.2 sees many previously available emoji being updated to include gender neutral options.

"Currently, emoji provide a wide range of options, but may not represent the experiences of those with disabilities," an Apple rep said in 2018 when talking emoji expansion needs. "Diversifying the options available helps fill a significant gap and provides a more inclusive experience for all."

Among the new emoji are a vast assortment of couples holding hands, a person in a wheelchair, a hearing aid, a falafel, an ice cube, a juice box, a stick of butter, an orangutan, a skunk, a blood drop, and more.

There are also a vast assortment of non-emoji features worth pointing out in the latest iOS update. The update allows you to opt in or out of Siri-related voice recordings, delete your dictation history, utilize Deep Fusion photo tech, and more.

As always, it's hard not to write about Apple at large without mentioning the impending launch of their competition-worrying streaming platform Apple TV+. The service launches Nov. 1 and will set you back merely $5 a month, with confirmed originals including the Aaron Paul-starring Truth Be Told.
