Here Are the Moderators for the Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump Presidential Debates

On Friday morning, the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates released the names of the journalists who will moderate each of the three presidential debates between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump this fall as well as the single vice presidential debate.

NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt will moderate the first debate at Hempstead, N.Y.'s Hofstra University on Sept. 26. CNN's Anderson Cooper and ABC's Martha Raddatz will moderate the second debate, which will be formatted like a town hall meeting and take place on Oct. 9 at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. And Fox News' Chris Wallace will host the third and final debate on Oct. 19—just under 3 weeks before the election—on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus in Las Vegas, Nev.

The vice presidential debate, a matchup between Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, will take place on Oct. 4 on the campus of Longwood University in Farmville, Va. CBS News' Elaine Quijano will moderate.

"These journalists bring extensive experience to the job of moderating, and understand the importance of using expanded time periods effectively. The formats chosen for this year's debates are designed to build on the formats introduced in 2012, which focused big blocks of time on major domestic and foreign topics," CPD co-chairs Frank Fahrenkopf Jr. and Michael McCurry said in a statement. "We are grateful for their willingness to moderate and confident that the public will learn more about the candidates and the issues as a result."

Clinton and Trump have not yet issued responses to the moderators who were selected for the debates.
