At this point, Rachel Sennott and Jordan Firstman might as well share a Google Calendar. The two co-star on an HBO show that Sennott created. Firstman's debut comedy album features Sennott. And now, the real-life besties have co-created and starred in a series of short films together for a new brand campaign.
The project, which launched on Wednesday, April 15 as part of Venmo's expanded Stash rewards program, is a three-part series of short films rolling out over the next two weeks. What makes it worth paying attention to is that Sennott and Firstman didn't just show up to read lines. According to a press release, the pair were in the writers' room, shaped wardrobe, and had creative input on the final cuts.
"We had a damn blast," Sennott told Betches. "We've been friends for so many years and on top of that, a lot of the crew were our close friends and our stylists were there, so it was such a fun set."
Firstman called the experience "a dream" and said the collaboration felt natural because they already use the app. "We're not having to lie, which sometimes you do," he said. "It was easy to lock in because we actually know about it and use it." Sennott added that she's a fan of the rewards feature. "I love the gamification of anything," she said. "I like seeing myself get points." Firstman's take was more concise: "It's free. Girl math."
The campaign arrives in the middle of what's shaping up to be a massive year for both of them. Sennott is currently in the writers' room for I Love LA Season 2 after the show was renewed before its first season even wrapped. In February, she appeared alongside Charli XCX in Poppi's Super Bowl LX commercial.
Firstman, meanwhile, just wrapped his feature directorial debut. Club Kid, a New York-set drama he also wrote and stars in alongside Cara Delevingne and Diego Calva, is set to premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in Un Certain Regard, where it will be eligible for the Caméra d'Or.
