Watch This Tinder Match Meet for the First Time After Messaging for 3 Years

Two Kent State University students who matched on Tinder finally met after messaging for almost three years.

After nearly three years of playing message tag on Tinder, two Kent State University students have finally met. Josh Avsec and Michelle Arendas first came into the public eye earlier this month when Josh posted a screenshot of his Tinder messages with Michelle to Twitter.

Michelle (surprisingly) responded the same day, but of course, it was tongue-in-cheek.

Good Morning America got a hold of the story and invited Josh and Michelle to meet for the first time on the show on Tuesday. They were set up in the studio like The Dating Game, with a partition separating them, while hosts Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer asked them a series of questions about their messages, including how the gag was kept up for so long.

"I was committed to my joke," Michelle said. "I loved the fact that we had a similar sense of humor, so I was not gonna be the one that gave in and gave up that great joke we had."

The big reveal was slightly awkward, but nonetheless adorable.

Tinder got in on things while Josh's initial tweet was making the rounds and offered to send the two wherever they wanted for a first date. Their pick?

If you're itching for a free trip on a first date, it might be time to fire up that Tinder app.
