In a Lesson in Karma, Trump Set to Catch Blame for Shutdown According to Twitter

In case you weren’t aware, we’re less than half a day away from a government shutdown. (Personally, I assumed the government shut down on January 20th, 2017… but I digress.) ANYWAY, Senate Democrats continue to rail against the short-term spending bill, which completely ignores many of their priorities, like providing protections for young undocumented immigrants and disaster relief. Mind you, many Republicans can’t seem to get behind it either. Immigration fuckery aside, there’s also the fact that the bill offers no long-term plan on how our federal government should be spending its money. Kind of a big deal, if you ask me.

So the question remains, who will bear the brunt of the blame if a shutdown does in fact occur? Will it be Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and the Democrats, or Twitter monkey 45 and Republicans? Welp, if his favorite social media platform is any indication, Trump will be catching most of the flack. #TrumpShutdown is the trending hashtag. It would be fitting, after all. Back in 2013, a pre-presidential Trump critiqued former President Barack Obama, saying that a government shutdown would be an indication of the failings of our then Commander-in-Chief. It turns out Presidents in White Houses shouldn’t throw stones, dude. Anyway, here’s what Twitter’s making of all of this.
