Advertisers Drop Laura Ingraham After She Taunted Parkland Survivor David Hogg

That'll teach her to diss a school shooting survivor.

Since Fox News’ Laura Ingraham decided to be petty AF and call out Parkland student/shooting survivor David Hogg about not getting into certain colleges he had applied to, Hogg (who has a 4.1 GPA by the way) hit Ingraham where it hurts most: her advertisers. Since Hogg called out the TV host via his Twitter account, a number of companies have pulled their ads from Ingraham’s show, and they're continuing to drop like flies.

As Deadline notes, it started with Rachel Ray’s pet-food company, Nutrish. “We are in the process of removing our ads from Laura Ingraham’s program.” Then TripAdvisor jumped on the bandwagon departing Ingraham-ville, saying in a statement to Politico, “In our view, these statements focused on a high school student, cross the line of decency.” Next came (or went) Wayfair, Expedia, Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, Jos A Bank, and Hulu.

Ingraham apologized on Thursday. “Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA — including David Hogg. On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland,” she tweeted. “For the record, I believe my show was the first to feature David immediately after that horrific shooting. And as always, he’s welcome to come on my show anytime for a productive discussion.”

Hogg has been one of the more outspoken survivors of the Parkland massacre, advocating for stricter gun control in the wake of the tragedy. Ingraham probably should have known better than to try him (or any teenager, sheesh). Hogg dismissed her apology and said he would only accept it if she denounced the way Fox “has treated my friends and I in this fight.”
