Michelle Obama was simply trying to put in a good word for Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brain Chesky, but it came out a little weird.
Michelle and her brother Craig Robinson spoke with Chesky on their IMO podcast about the site's new feature known as the Airbnb Experience. Among the many experiences people can sign up for, the 43-year-old will open up his two-bedroom home to a lucky guest. In an effort to promote the experience, Obama tried to speak up the opportunity, while also bringing up his bachelor status.
“I have to say, Brian, if I’m a single girl out there, and I find out that Brian Chesky is single, and I can stay in his house," Obama said at the 6:10 mark, before Robinson intervened.
Prior to his arrival on their podcast, Michelle called Chesky a "dear, dear friend," who she would want to have as a son.
Obama also said Chesky and Barack have "gotten close over the years," speaking to his relationship with the entire family.
