President Obama Blasts Donald Trump for 'Whining' About 'Rigged' Election

President Obama says Donald Trump shold stop complaining about a rigged election.

President Obama is not here for Donald Trump's conspiracy theories about a "rigged" election. During a press conference with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on the White House lawn on Tuesday, President Obama slammed the Republican presidential candidate for "whining" about a rigged election, saying his claims were "unprecedented."

"I have never seen in my lifetime or in modern political history, any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections and the election process before votes have even taken place," the president said, addressing a sea of reporters. "It’s unprecedented. It happens to be based on no facts." The president also noted that Trump's recent behavior is a sign that he is unfit to run the country. "It doesn't really show the kind of leadership and toughness that you'd want out of a president," he added. "You start whining before the game's even over? If whenever things are going badly for you and you lose you start blaming somebody else? Then you don't have what it takes to be in this job."

Earlier in the press conference, President Obama criticized Trump for his affiliation with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, claiming that their seemingly amicable relationship is "unprecedented in American politics" and contradictory.

Trump insists that this election will be rigged in select polling places around the country. In a recent Twitter rant, he suggested that the media was determined to fix the election, in an attempt to push Hillary Clinton's campaign. This will most likely be an interesting talking point during the final presidential debate on Oct. 19.
