Wenne Alton Davis, an actor who starred in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has died tragically at the age of 60.

According to a December 10 article in The New York Times, Davis "died after being hit by a car in Manhattan late on Monday" December 8.

Police told The Times that an S.U.V. "traveling westbound on West 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan made a left turn onto Broadway and struck a pedestrian just before 9 p.m. on Monday." Jamie Harris, Davis’s agent at Clear Talent Group, confirmed to The Times that Davis was the pedestrian killed in that incident. Davis died at the hospital.

Davis died after being struck "while crossing the street," People reported.

According to The Times, Davis played a police officer in an episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Davis "suffered severe trauma to her head and body as a result of the collision and was transferred to Mount Sinai West Hospital," Fox News reported.

The driver of the other vehicle has not been identified. However, according to Fox News, he stayed at the scene after the incident and, as of December 11, "faces no charges," and no arrest was made.

There is an ongoing investigation into Davis's death, however, Fox News reported, adding that the vehicle that struck Davis was a 2023 Cadillac XT6.

Davis starred in a number of television shows over the years.

Some of Davis's appearances listed on the actor's IMDb profile are Rescue Me (2009), Shame (2011), The Normal Heart (2014), American Odyssey (2015), Blindspot (2019), New Amsterdam (2019) and Girls5eva (2022).

Davis's appearance on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel came in 2023, and the popular show was the actor's last screen credit, according to the profile.

Davis was active on Instagram, sharing photos of pets and others.

“I can only describe Wenne Davis as a bright light,” the actor’s agent, Jamie Harris, told The Advocate.
