Tejas Fighter Jet Crashes in Fireball on Video at Dubai Air Show

Video captured the moment a Tejas fighter jet crashed during the Dubai Air Show.

An Indian Tejas fighter jet crashed in a fiery incident at the Dubai Air Show.

Several viral videos caught the crash from different angles and circulated on X.

"As an aviator, a plane crash is always heartbreaking and especially if a pilot loses his life," a man who shared the videos wrote on X. "Watching this Indian Air Force Teja go down today at the Dubai Air Show was a terrible feeling. Our heartfelt condolences to the pilot and his family."

According to Reuters, the jet crashed "during an aerial display" at the Dubai Air Show, and officials said they were going to investigate the cause an.

An air show attendee told Reuters that the jet was "flying for no more than eight or nine minutes and completed two to three laps when it went into a nose-dive."

"I could see three different fireballs when it collided with the ground," he said. "Everybody in the crowd stood up there on their feet, and then maybe in around 30 seconds, the emergency vehicles rushed over to the location at the crash site."

The fighter jet pilot died in the crash, ABC News reported.

The network described the jet as an "Indian HAL Tejas, a combat aircraft used in the Indian Air Force."

The Indian Air Force told ABC News that “the pilot sustained fatal injuries in the accident," adding, “IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief."

The statement said that “a court of inquiry is being constituted, to ascertain the cause of the accident," ABC News reported.
