A New Jersey family's Thanksgiving table collapse is the viral video of the holiday.

Kat Hovnanian first shared her family video on Instagram. "Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!" she wrote with the video, which racked up more than 317,000 likes on her page alone before going viral on other social media platforms.

The video shows one of Hovnanian's young cousins standing in front of a long Thanksgiving table laden with food as family members gather around to hear the cousin give a speech. Suddenly, the table gives way, collapsing and sending the trays of food hurtling to the floor.

Hovnanian gave more details of the mishap in an interview. ABC Chicago reprinted the Storyful account, which explained that the family is from New Jersey.

"We were filming our pre-Thanksgiving speech by one of our little cousins and right as she finished, the table broke, and all the food fell to the ground," said Hovnanian, according to the news site.

"Auntie Siran spent weeks preparing and cooking, but she was an absolute champ about it," she said. "We are an Armenian family of about 150 people. We picked whatever we could off the floor - there was enough, but most of it was destroyed."

She also explained what happened to the table.

"There was too much weight at the front of the table because of all the food," Hovnanian explained. "What an Armenian Thanksgiving with too much food!"

People responded to Hovnanian's comment thread on Instagram with jokes.

"Imagine you’re the family member who can't cook, so you brought the table," wrote one person.

"The extreme silence while everyone looks for who to blame 😭," wrote another.

"This is only funny bc it ain't me," a person commiserated.

"I am looking at the dishes to see which ones are salvageable 😢😮😂 five second rule?" another person wrote.
