A suspect has been accused in connection with the mass shooting at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in downtown Concord, North Carolina. Video from the shooting aftermath circulated on X.

Police identified 18-year-old Nasir Ahma Bostic as one of the alleged shooters in a news release. Four were injured in the shooting that broke out "around 7:30 p.m. on Union Street S near the intersection with Corban Avenue" on November 21, police wrote in a news release.

"The shooting occurred during the City’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony."

The shooting "was not a random act of violence directed at the public," Concord police wrote in the release.

"The Concord Police Department investigation revealed the shooting was between two suspects who are known to each other," police added. "Police have accounted for all parties involved."

“A night of celebration for our community was interrupted by senseless violence, affecting everyone who was there,” said Concord Police Chief Jimmy Hughes, in the release. “Our community showed great strength and resilience as everyone came together to help one another and our officers. Due to the quick actions of our downtown businesses, the public, first responders, and law enforcement, we were able to quickly evacuate the area, prevent additional injuries, and identify all suspects involved."

The Concord Police Department wrote that they "identified 18-year-old Nasir Ahmad Bostic of Concord as one of the shooters. Bostic is one of the four gunshot wound victims who was transported to the hospital, and he remains in critical condition."

Added police: "Warrants for his arrest have been issued for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill (N.C.G.S 14-32 (a)) and inciting a riot (N.C.G.S. 14-288.2). Bostic will be served upon his release from the hospital."

In addition, the Concord Police Department "filed petitions through the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice for the second suspected shooter, who is a juvenile. The Department filed petitions for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill (N.C.G.S. 14-32(a)), two counts of discharging into an occupied property inflicting serious injury (N.C.G.S. 14-34.1) and inciting a riot (N.C.G.S. 14-288.2)."

The juvenile "is one of the four gunshot wound victims who was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition," they added. Juvenile laws prevent police from naming the juvenile.

Police also identified and charged a third suspect, "17-year-old Keyvyonn Rayshaund Bostic of Concord. He is being charged as an adult, with accessory after the fact (N.S.G.S. 14-7) and inciting a riot (N.C.G.S. 14-288.2)," they wrote.

"Keyvyonn Rayshaund Bostic was not injured and was apprehended shortly after the incident. Two 17-year-old gunshot wound victims were also transported to the hospital. One has been released and the second remains in critical condition," police added.
