A beauty queen representing Panama made an embarrassing snafu at the Miss Grand International pageant, and it's captured on video.
The viral video shows Miss Panama, Isamar Herrera, strolling forward as the announcer named the finalists. The only problem was that he said "Miss Grand Paraguay," not "Miss Panama," and she misheard him.
The smiling beauty queen didn't realize the mistake until she had strutted forward.
"I beg your pardon. I announced Miss Grand Paraguay. There is a lot of noise in this hall," the announcer said. "Packed full of fans from all over the world."
Miss Grand Paraguay then strolled forward to take her rightful place among the finalists.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the mishap occurred on October 18, 2025, at the pageant ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand. The top 20 finalists were being named.
Fans felt sorry for Miss Panama on X, to some degree. "That kinda sucks, but got to listen what is said, not what you want to hear," wrote one.
"Poor girl," another person said. Another person blamed the announcer.
"Well, this is awkward," commented another person.
Miss Panama appears to have moved on, sharing glamour photos on her Instagram page. "Photos that I never uploaded and that can't stay in my gallery 🤍 ✨," she wrote with a collage of photos on October 22.
Fans also filled up her Instagram comment threads with support. "I'm from Paraguay and I felt very sorry for what happened to her, she was a very good candidate, flawless in every exit and also deserved to qualify. I'm sure better things will come in your life, 💗🥹" one person wrote.
Of the pageant in question, Herrera wrote, "A night where Panama was made to feel fearless 🇵🇦❤️ Thank you my God for making us shine as a nation, without you I am nothing."
