Joseph DeAngelo, the "Golden State Killer," was harboring a secret.
According to a prosecutor's book, he has a "micro penis," TMZ is reporting.
The detail can be found in Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho's new book, The People vs. the Golden State Killer. In it, according to TMZ, the prosecutor describes circumstantial evidence leading to DeAngelo's capture in the string of 1970s and 1980s-era rapes and murders that terrorized parts of California.
In one anecdote in the book, according to TMZ, Ho describes how a police photographer grew frustrated when he was instructed to photograph DeAngelo's genitalia. He "got on his knees" to take the photo but "grew frustrated after several failed attempts."
The detective "threw up his hands in the air in exasperation and barked over the intercom, 'There’s nothing there.'" According to TMZ, the book asserts that DeAngelo's manhood is "smaller than the circumference of a dime and its length is equal to the tip of your pinky."
DeAngelo was also captured through innovative genealogical DNA technology.
According to Biography.com, the serial killer, who was accused of murdering 10 people in Southern California before being caught in 2018, was first dubbed the "Original Night Stalker" before an author started calling him the "Golden State Killer." He was charged with 13 murders and other crimes and is serving a life prison term.
The book caption on Amazon says, "In The People vs. the Golden State Killer, Thien Ho, the current District Attorney of Sacramento, recounts his harrowing and exhilarating experience as the lead prosecutor responsible for capturing and prosecuting Joseph DeAngelo."
The book caption continues, "Referred to at various times by law enforcement and the media as the Visalia Ransacker, the East Bay Rapist, the Original Nightstalker, and finally the Golden State Killer, DeAngelo, a former policeman, is widely considered 'one of the most notorious serial predators in American history.'"
