Raccoons have made the news before. There was the raccoon that tried to smoke meth during an Ohio police stop.

There was the raccoon that fell from the ceiling at LaGuardia Airport, right next to the Spirit Airlines gate. And there was the raccoon that went viral after accepting food at a Dunkin' drive-up window.

And now there's the "drunk" raccoon in the Virginia liquor store.

According to the Associated Press, the raccoon broke into a closed liquor store in Ashland, Virginia, on Saturday, November 29, smashed liquor bottles (scotch and whiskey if you're curious), and then passed out on a bathroom floor, right next to the toilet.

Photos show the raccoon sprawled out face down next to the toilet. The photos were first shared on Facebook by the Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter's page.

"Black Friday Break-In at Ashland ABC Store Suspect Apprehended After Liquor-Fueled Rampage," the headline on the Facebook post says.

"On Saturday morning, Officer Martin responded to an unusual call at the Ashland ABC Store. Upon arrival, she discovered the 'suspect' had broken in, ransacked several shelves, and then… passed out in the bathroom," the post says.

"The suspect? A very intoxicated raccoon. Officer Martin safely secured our masked bandit and transported him back to the shelter to sober up before questioning," the post adds.

"After a few hours of sleep and zero signs of injury (other than maybe a hangover and poor life choices), he was safely released back to the wild, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the answer," says the post. "A big shout-out to Officer Martin for handling this chaotic scene with professionalism and good humor. Just another day in the life at Hanover Animal Protection!"

One photo showed smashed bottles on the floor.

“I personally like raccoons,” said Samantha Martin, an officer who works at the local animal control, to the AP. “They are funny little critters. He fell through one of the ceiling tiles and went on a full-blown rampage, drinking everything.”
