TikToker Shirley Raines, best known for her viral videos that showed her aiding the homeless on Skid Row, has reportedly died.

On Wednesday (January 28), the TikTok page for Raines, also called Ms. Shirley or Beauty2theStreetz, posted a memoriam for the philanthropist and social media personality.

"It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that Beauty 2 The Streetz announces the passing of our beloved CEO and founder, Shirley Raines, affectionately known to so many as Ms. Shirley," read the post's caption.

"This loss is devastating to the entire Beauty 2 The Streetz team, the communities we serve, and the countless individuals whose lives were forever changed by Ms. Shirley’s love, generosity, and selfless service."

Raines, a native of Long Beach, established nonprofit Beauty 2 the Streetz to distribute food and resources to those living on Los Angeles Skid Row. Along with donating food, clothing and hygienic products, Raines would also provide makeup and hair coloring services to those in need, which she showed on frequently-posted TikToks.

In 2021, Raines was one of seventeen activists named CNN Hero of the Year and was among those on stage with four-time Grammy winner Lizzo when she accepted the People's Champion Award.

"It’s not so much just giving them makeup or doing their hair, it’s also the physical touch," the late mother of six told CNN in 2021. "People need physical touch. That’s what was hard when the pandemic hit. We had to stop doing hair, we had to stop doing barber services. And that might be the nicest touch they’ve had all day."

While the Beauty 2 the Streetz TikTok did not disclose Raines' cause of death, they assured that additional information will be provided when made available.
