Multiple artists distancing themselves President Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 lineup has enraged the politician.
This week, the planned lineup for the celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding was announced, with performers including Vanilla Ice, Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Young MC and more. With more than half of the artists from the lineup having dropped out of the 16-day event Great American State Fair at the National Mall in D.C., the 47th U.S. president reacted in a Truth Social post on Saturday (May 30).
“I understand Artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance on Wednesday,” he began.
“So I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World,” he continued. “The man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists,’ and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!”
Trump went on to say that it was two years ago that the U.S. was “dead,” and has transformed into the “hottest country anywhere in the world.”
“I don’t want so-called ‘Artists’ that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy. I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN,” Trump wrote.
Vanilla Ice and surviving Milli Vanilli member Fab Morvan have held onto their decisions to perform, with the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper telling TMZ that his only objective was to “party with America.” In early 2024, Vanilla Ice rang in the New Year as a performer during an event thrown by Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
