A video has been released showing an incident involving the director of the hit show Outer Banks, Jonas Pate, and a female production assistant.
It was first reported back in October 2025 by TMZ that Pate had grabbed and shaken the PA while “shouting in her face.” Pate was reportedly angry because the PA had walked in front of a camera.
The incident reportedly took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, where the cast and crew were filming the final season of the show.
In the video that has since been released, the female PA can be seen carrying what appears to be cups of coffee across the room and, at one point, crosses in front of the camera. Jonas, visibly irritated, then grabs her by the arm, causing her to turn around to face him while he appears to yell at her.
Many members of staff standing around can be seen turning to watch the altercation.
Madelyn Cline, who is 28-years-old and stars on the show as Chase Stokes’ love interest, Sarah Cameron, can then be seen quickly walking over to intervene, her arm raised in the air. It was reported that Stokes also attempted to de-escalate the situation.
When TMZ first reported on the incident, a source told them that such behavior by Pate was “not unusual,” saying, “It’s about time that it’s made public.”
Pate, nor any stars of the show, have spoken publicly about the incident.
The first season of Outer Banks was released in 2020. Since then, there have been four seasons in total, with the fifth and final season expected to be released in 2026.
The show follows a group of teenage friends searching for treasure in the wake of the disappearance of the father of the group’s leader, John B.
In addition to Cline and Stokes, the Netflix show also stars Drew Starkey, Rudy Pankow, Madison Bailey, and Austin North.
