Many fans will remember the iconic relationship of the characters Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse, portrayed by Lori Loughlin and John Stamos on the show Full House. However, many might not realize that the pair has remained very close in real life throughout the many years since the show.
Now, Stamos is proving that he is always going to be there for Loughlin, no matter what hardships she may be facing in life.
During a recent episode of the Good Guys podcast, Stamos discussed Loughlin’s recent separation from Giannulli after 28 years of marriage. He also discussed Loughlin’s past entanglement with the infamous college admissions scandal and the role that he believes Giannulli played in it.
Stamos had nothing but praise for his beloved former co-star.
“I'm just heartbroken for her right now. She’s just devastated. For a girl who has lived her life really well, a good person, a good mother, a good wife — I know all this for a fact — to be thrown into now this separation and, you know, exploding, blowing up her family this way,” Stamos said. “I just hate to see her go through this. I really do.”
As for Giannulli, Stamos' words were not as kind. He made it clear that he blames Giannulli for the fact that Loughlin ended up spending two months in federal prison and stated that he does not believe she was aware of things connected to the scandal that were going on behind the scenes.
“I said, ‘Look, all the negativity or hard hardships that you've been through in your life is connected to this guy,’” Stamos admitted he told Loughlin of her estranged husband. “Whatever he did to her, it busted her up to the core. She put up with a lot over the years of this guy.”
Stamos referred to Giannulli as a “terrible narcissist,” and concluded by saying, “I think this guy needs help.”
