Derek Hough of Dancing with the Stars and his wife, Hayley Erbert, have officially announced the birth of their first child. The two professional dancers met through DWTS and were married in August of 2023.

The pair turned to social media on January 5 to share that they welcomed a daughter on December 29, 2025. This is the first time they officially shared the gender or name of their child.

“December 29, 2025 Everley Capri Hough 🤍Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed,” the caption of the post read.

They included a black and white photograph of their hands encircling their newborn’s feet.

Fans and fellow celebrities alike were quick to share their love and congratulations.

“Congratulations to you both! So happy,” wrote Robert Irwin, the winner of the most recent season of DWTS.

“Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley,” gushed Hough’s sister and fellow professional dancer, Julianne Hough.

Dylan Efron, who got to know Hough and his family while competing on Season 23 of DWTS, also shared his excitement, writing, “She’s going to be so loved.”

While appearing on the Jennifer Hudson Show in 2025, Hough opened up about the surreal experience of coming to terms with the fact that he would soon become a father.

"I felt the baby kick for the first time, and it was that feeling that everybody talks about and describes, where all of a sudden everything became vivid and different," he said. "And I'm like, 'Whoa, I'm going to be something that I've never [been.] I'm going to feel something I've never experienced before yet.' And, I just can't wait. I can't wait."

Both Hough and Erbert have been candid about the fact that they have experienced the pain of pregnancy loss in the past.

"Although we are so excited to be welcoming our rainbow soon, we honor our baby that never made it earthside,” they wrote in a previous social media post.
