It was a crime that shocked the state of Wisconsin and people across the entire nation. In February of 2022, a woman named Taylor Schabusiness brutally killed and severed the head of her boyfriend, 24-year-old Shad Thyrion. She was high on methamphetamine and other drugs at the time. Thyrion’s mother would later be the one to discover his remains.

Schabusiness eventually pleaded not guilty of murder by reason of insanity. However, a jury would ultimately convict her of her horrific crimes. She was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, followed by 10.5 years.

Prior to the sentencing, Schabusiness went viral online for attacking her own lawyer while in court. She was tackled to the ground, and the lawyer was not seriously injured.

In 2024, Schabusiness found herself in even more legal trouble after lunging at a female sergeant who had escorted her to receive medical treatment for a staple lodged in her arm. While in court to face a charge related to that incident, Schabusiness once again lunged at her lawyer and was promptly thrown to the ground by officers standing by.

While in court on December 1, 2025, to face sentencing for her 2024 attack on the female sergeant, Schabusiness was given the chance to offer a statement. While she did apologize for the attack, there was little remorse shown.

“I ain’t no r*****. I didn’t mean to go off on that b**** like that at all, and I’m sorry for that. How it came off like that, it didn’t need to happen that way, and it shouldn’t have. I should get 10 days at least on the bracelet or something like that," she said.

The judge ultimately sentenced her to 90 days in prison to be served consecutively to her life sentence. Schabusiness flipped him off as she was wheeled out of the courtroom.
