Former president Donald Trumphosted a rally at The Adams County Fairgrounds in Quincy, Illinois on Saturday. He was in the state to support Congresswoman Mary Miller’s re-election in Illinois’ 15th congressional district.

After Trump offered his support, Rep. Miller made her remarks, calling the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade a “historic victory for white life.”

Roe v. Wade was a legal case in 1973 that the court ruled the Constitution generally protected a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion.

According to Rolling Stone, Trump briefly spoke about the monumental ruling announced on Friday, which made the constitutional right to an abortion illegal or heavily restricted in certain states. Trump said it was “a victory for the constitution…the rule of law,” and “a victory for life.”

Abortion-rights protesters continued to voice their fury and anger about the decision over the weekend.
