Cameron Sterling, the 15-year-old son of Alton Sterling, a black man who was shot and killed by white police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana last week, held a press conference on Wednesday morning to address his father's death. In his brief comments to the press, Sterling called for peaceful protests.
The 15-year-old thanked people for their support of his family in the wake of his father's death, and said,
Sterling also spoke about protests and demonstrations regarding the shooting death of his father saying, "I feel that everyone, yes you can protest, but I want everyone to protest in the right way. Protest in peace... No violence, none whatsoever."
Cameron Sterling captured the attention of the nation last week when he broke down at a press conference while his mother was giving a statement to the press. The heart-breaking video showed Sterling sobbing and saying he wanted his dad.
Alton Sterling was fatally shot by a police officer while he was being held on the ground. The FBI is currently investigating the shooting to determine whether or not the officers violated Sterling's civil rights.
