Trump Issues Warning to Start Deporting 'Millions of Illegal Aliens' Next Week

Even though Trump made the threat, ICE doesn't have the resources to carry it out.

Donald Trump has made an unclear threat to deport “millions” of undocumented immigrants next week.

“Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States,” Trump wrote. “They will be removed as fast as they come in. Mexico, using their strong immigration laws, is doing a very good job of stopping people long before they get to our Southern Border.”

He then took the chance to blame congressional Democrats, asking them to address the “border crisis.”

According to CNN, the tweets came hours before Trump is set to launch his 2020 bid on Tuesday. He kicked off his 2016 campaign on a similar foot, pledging to hit illegal immigration hard by building a wall and relieving the country of undocumented immigrants. However, deporting millions of people, as Trump implied on Monday, calls for extensive resources and ICE is already stretched thin by migrants illegally crossing the border.

Last week, 21 Savage made a $25,000 donation to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit civil rights organization that assisted his battle against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The check will ensure detained immigrants in the South will have access to legal counsel. According to the SPLC, only about 17 percent of immigrants in Southeast detainment centers have access to an attorney during removal proceedings. The lack of legal representation leaves individuals vulnerable to family separation and deportation.
