A German neo-Nazi died while hiking what is thought to have been Adolf Hitler’s most beloved mountain.

The New York Post reports Andreas Münzhuber fell from Untersberg mountain on Sept. 29 in Germany. He was on a 30-person trek when he stumbled on an exposed wet root and plummeted to his death, ultimately falling 196 feet. Rescue teams arrived at the scene but discovered that Münzhuber had died upon impact.

Münzhuber was a senior member of the Bavaria faction of the neo-Nazi group, The Third Way. According to the outlet, right-wing extremist groups have taken to Telegram and Facebook to crowdfund for a memorial stone to be built where he died, and for his wife and child.

Untersberg is an almost 6,500-foot high summit in Germany that was believed to be Hitler’s favorite. His well-known Eagle’s Nest retreat was housed nearby.
