Listen to Donald Trump's Travel Ban Hearing Live

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments from the government on whether or not to restore Donald Trump's controversial travel ban.

The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments from the government on whether or not to restore Donald Trump's controversial travel ban. A panel of three randomly selected federal judges—Judge William C. Canby Jr, Judge Michelle T. Friedland, and Judge Richard R. Clifton—will hear arguments from Justice Department lawyers as well as opposing attorneys for the states of Washington and Minnesota. The DOJ is battling to reinstate Trump's executive order less than a week after U.S. District Judge James Robart put a nationwide hold on the ban while courts review its legality.

Today's hearing will not address the constitutionality of the temporary travel ban, which bars travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S.; it will instead focus on its suspension.

You can listen to the live arguments above.

Trump's temporary travel ban will remain suspended—at least for now. The U.S. appeals court ended the hearing on Tuesday night without announcing a ruling. According to the Washington Post, Judge Friedland concluded the hearing by thanking the lawyers for their statements, and reassuring them a ruling would be issued shortly.
