After Donald Trumpsniffed his way through the first two presidential debates, rumors swirled that maybe he had been dabbling with some Columbian marching powder. But according to the Republican candidate, it’s Hillary Clinton who’s the one using drugs.

During Saturday’s campaign rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Trump suggested that Clinton was getting “pumped up” during her weekend debate preparation, and that they should be subject to a drug test prior to Wednesday’s third and final debate.

“Athletes, they make them take a drug test, right?” Trump asked his supporters. “I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate. I think we should. Why don’t we do that? We should take a drug test.”

The insinuation that Clinton is relying on PEDs to survive the campaign trail is just the latest example of an increasingly unhinged Trump trying anything to save his evaporating chances at The White House. But what made Trump’s remarks particularly offensive wasn’t the fact that he attacked Clinton’s physical fitness. No, we're used to that. It was that he was trivializing drug addiction in America—a very real problem—during a speech that was meant to seriously address the state’s devastating heroin epidemic.

Instead, Trump capped off what has been a truly disturbing week for his campaign, filled with delusional conspiracy theories and wild accusations—anything to take attention away from the nearly dozen women who have come forward with sordid tales of Trump’s many alleged sexual indiscretions.

Expect fireworks when the candidates take the stage one last time on Wednesday, October 19, live at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
