Eggslut, the trendy breakfast sandwich chain with an eyebrow-raising name, is coming to Canada. The restaurant, which originally launched in Los Angeles, California back in 2011, will be opening two locations in downtown Toronto, the first in what the brand calls a “structured Canadian expansion.”
The first Canadian Eggslut location will open on King Street West on April 30, 2026, while a second location near Yonge and Dundas location is set to open later this summer.
For those who might not know, “eggslut” is a colloquial term for a person who enjoys adding eggs to every meal.
Aside from its cheeky name, the restaurant franchise is known for its chef-driven take on the egg sandwich: brioche-bun breakfast sandwiches, which feature eggs made in different styles, like soft scrambled or coddled.
“Eggslut started with a simple idea: take something familiar and make it exceptional," Eggslut co-owner Andy Lee said in a news release. “From a food truck in Los Angeles to a global following, we’ve stayed focused on quality, consistency, and intention. Toronto is a city that truly shows up for food, and we’re excited to introduce Eggslut to the market and let the food speak for itself.”
According to the release the new Toronto locations will source ingredients from Ontario-based suppliers, like Burnbrae Farms, which will provide the restaurants’ namesake eggs.
“From day one, our focus has been on building Eggslut in Canada the right way — with a local-first mindset,” added Adam Flook, development lead at Westrich Hospitality. “We’ve partnered with Canadian suppliers, hired a Canadian team, and approached this as a long-term investment in the market. While the brand has global recognition, we’re delivering an authentic Eggslut experience that’s deeply rooted in the local community.”
Toronto is just the first northern stop for the cult-favourite eatery. Eggslut is currently evaluating additional Canadian markets, including Vancouver. Internationally, the chain already has locations in the U.K., Japan and Australia.
