People across the United States and around the world will be coming together to mourn the victims of the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla. Vigils will be held nationwide to show solidarity with the victims and their families.
The worst mass shooting in the nation's history left 50 people dead and wounded at least 53 more. President Obama noted that the attack, which happened at a gay club, was an attack on "more than a nightclub. It was [an attack on] a place of solidarity and empowerment." Many of the vigils are happening at historic LGBT spots, such as New York's Stonewall Inn. The president also ordered that all flags be flown at half-staff for the next four days to honor the victims.

The city of Orlando has issued a statement on Twitter requesting the public to hold off on planned vigils. "They represent a serious strain on our limited resources, which we need to dedicate to law enforcement and victims."
