Japanese Man Drops $14,000 for Custom-Made Collie Dog Costume

The unidentified individual says he's now fulfilled his dream of "becoming an animal."

A Japanese man has fulfilled his dream of becoming a dog.

As reported by the New York Post, the unidentified man, who goes by Toco online, last week shared a video of his first public walk on his YouTube channel. The video, which features Toco donning a realistic Collie costume, sees the man interacting with humans, while also rolling on the ground and playing in a dog-like nature.

“Thankfully, I received permission to use the videos, so I am releasing them to the public! On the day of the interview, they were very kind to me,” Toco wrote in the YouTube description.

The company which manufactured Toco's costume says the design took more than a month to craft, while costing more than $14,000. “Modeled after a collie dog, it reproduces the appearance of a real dog walking on four legs," a company spokesperson told news.com.au in an interview.

In a seperate interview with the Mirror, Toco expressed his fear of telling his friends about his desire to become a dog.

“I rarely tell my friends because I am afraid they will think I am weird,’ Toco told the outlet. “My friends and family seemed very surprised to learn I became an animal.”

Toco added, “I don’t want my hobbies to be known, especially by the people I work with."
