A rising gaming YouTuber known to fans as Advance Gaming has died at just 22 years old after a fatal car crash in Malaysia, a tragedy that is now fueling outrage across social media and renewed scrutiny over the country’s perceived lax drunk driving laws.

According to People, Muzahid Millad, a Bangladeshi content creator, was killed on Wednesday, April 22, when a vehicle allegedly driven by an intoxicated Malaysian soldier crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed into the car he was riding in.

The collision occurred on the Maju Expressway as Millad and his wife, Nafisa Tabassum Adiba, were traveling from the airport to Kuala Lumpur during a vacation. Adiba, 23, survived the crash and was hospitalized with injuries.

Authorities confirmed that a 31-year-old suspect has been arrested, though they declined to provide additional details.

According to Kuala Lumpur traffic police chief Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa, a breathalyzer test showed the driver’s alcohol level exceeded legal limits, and investigators are working to obtain CCTV footage to reconstruct the incident.

The case is being pursued under Malaysia’s Road Transport Act, which carries significant prison time and financial penalties for impaired driving resulting in death.

Millad had built a strong following in Bangladesh’s online gaming scene, where his content resonated with a growing audience of young players and stream viewers.

Family members have also spoken out. Adiba’s uncle, Mohibul Hassan, questioned how the situation had come to pass. “They were just tourists,” he said. “Why was a drunk person driving?”

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s defense minister confirmed that a soldier was involved but emphasized that the investigation would be handled by the police.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions around impaired driving in Malaysia, following another fatal case less than a month earlier. While such crashes account for a relatively small percentage of overall road deaths—less than 0.5% in recent years—they often spark disproportionate public anger due to their preventable nature.

Lawmakers have already begun drafting amendments that could require convicted drivers to compensate victims’ families in addition to existing penalties.
